nurturing . When concerned , a woman is more likely to touch or stroke gently , a man more likely to pat or pound . They both care , just that estrogen and testosterone thing in action .
I have learned to embrace what makes me female . I love my soft , feminine body , love that it had the ability to grow new life and nourish that life . I love my intuition , my ability to see right through bullshit . I love being empathic now that I ’ ve learned how to discern what is my own bullshit and what isn ’ t . I feel powerful , and I am powerful .

People in my life will tell you that I am the most loving person they know , that I ’ m gentle and kind . They will also tell you I ’ m a strong leader and they can count on me to get things done .
I don ’ t have to raise my voice or act aggressively . I can scare the shit out of someone with a look . I can also calm a screaming autistic child down within seconds .
My power is my femininity . It ’ s a force for good , a force for healing , and a force for getting shit done . I once witnessed a wreck ahead of me on the freeway . A car from my lane crossed the grass median and hit another car head-on .
I pulled off and parked , jumped out of my car and ran across two lanes of traffic stopping at the first car . His legs were crushed , but his air bag had gone off and he was dazed but conscious .
Then I ran to the second car which was literally a mangled mass of metal with a dying driver and three passengers screaming in agony .
I leaned through the broken window and gave the driver Reiki , and within minutes had all the passengers calmed and breathing . A burly , testosterone-filled state trooper came on the scene and told me to step away from the window . I calmly told him I was giving this man Reiki to help him and I would happily step away if he would please take over . He backed quickly away . When the paramedics finally arrived , I began telling them what to do , who to help first . I have no medical training . Let me repeat that . I have no medical training !
I do have intuition and I do have divinely feminine power . Those men all listened to me and followed my directions , never once doubting me . I worked with them for two hours . They asked for my information and later sent me a thank you letter that also asked me if there was any advice or feedback I could give them that might improve their service .
That was a pivotal point in my life . It was proof that gentleness and love had great power . This incident empowered me .
