Local Teens from The First Tee
selected for national opportunities
Karrington Knight (17) and Camille Simon
(17), participants of The First Tee of Greater New
Orleans, have been selected to participate in two
national junior golf programs. Knight was selected
to attend The First Tee Par-3 Championship, which
will take place June 13-18, 2017 in Richmond, VA.
Simon was selected to participate in The First Tee
Scholars Program - a distinction awarded to First
Tee participants who excel in academics, leadership,
character development, and chapter and community
involvement.
Knight is one of 32 participants from across the
country selected to compete in The First Tee Par-3
Championship, which is a 36-hole individual stroke
play golf competition held at The Kanawha Club.
At the conclusion of the 36 holes a boy and girl Par-3
champion will be determined.
Participants at the Par-3 Championship also
work on life skill development through dorm living,
interaction with participants from around the country
and guest speakers. By the end of the week they will
have a better understanding of competitive
