Team Smith/Pizzitola win Ping/Sterling Cut
Glass Pro-Scratch
METAIRIE, Louisiana – The PING/
Sterling Cut Glass Pro-Scratch named its
Team Champions for 2016 at Audubon
Park Golf Club on Monday, Nov. 14.
This event has a unique format that
involves one PGA Professional and one
Amateur playing six holes scramble, six
holes four ball, and six holes alternate shot.
Out of a 19 teams totaling 38 players,
this year’s winners were PGA Apprentice
Jared Smith of Canebrake Country Club in
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Mike Pizzitola.
Team Smith/Pizzitola shot an eight-under
par 54 and edged their competition by one
shot. Finishing tied for second was Team
Kuhn/Holcombe and Team Ishee/Eagan.
Closest to the Hole winners were PGA
Apprentice Marie Gateley and Mike
Pizzitola. Long Drive winners were PGA
Apprentice Derek Plucienski and Drew
Peeler.
The Gulf States PGA Section would like to thank
