Daniel wins LWGA Mid-Am

Kay Daniel, Covington, won her ninth Louisiana
Women’s Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship
title at Alexandria Golf & Country Club, Sept. 24-25.
Her first day round of one over par 73 gave her medalist
honors and coupled with a 79 on day two, yielded a 36 hole winning total of 152 on the par 72, 5,728 yard course.
A member at Money Hill, Daniel has now won 12 LWGA
titles, including the 1988 and 1989 Junior Girls as Kay
Donaldson, the 2005 Amateur, and she was 2015 Amateur
finalist.
Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge was runner-up and only
one shot from victory with 75-77=153. Harrison was the
2008 Mid-Amateur Champion, won the Amateur in 2004,
and was the 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016 Senior Champion.

Volunteers needed for Sanderson Farms Championship
Caddie for an amateur Pro Am
Participant during either the Oct. 24 or Oct.
26 Pro Am. Participants must be able to
carry a golf bag and walk all 18 holes. Golf
etiquette is a requirement. Caddies will not
be required to purchase a volunteer package.
Shotlink Laser Operators will record
and transmit shot locations of professionals
to the SHOTLink system while stationed
greenside or at fairway landing zones.
SHOTLink volunteers on fairway duty
will have preferred seating at key locations
within the ropes. *Please note: All will have
mandatory training on handheld devices
and lasers Oct. 24.
