Louisiana captured a third straight Junior
River Cup in Mississippi. Team Louisiana
started the day with a sizeable lead over the team
from Mississippi, 15-5. Needing only to secure 5
points to retain the cup, Team Louisiana could
have played to protect their lead. However, in
Sunday’s singles matches, the players for Team
Louisiana remained competitive to the very end
securing another 15 points, winning 14 of the 20
matches played on Sunday morning.
It wasn’t easy however; Team Mississippi took
several matches deep into the back nine and
some all the way to the 18th hole. At the end of
the day, the Junior River Cup was Louisiana’s
again with a winning score of 30-10.
