with the opportunity to meet and learn from
a PGA Tour Pro. Registration for this event
opens November 1, 2018 and is limited to the
first 48 teams that apply to play. As is the case
for all other LJGT events, the Sam Burns Junior
Four-Ball will be conducted over 36-holes. The
timing of this event is ideal. From the players’
standpoint, it will be a great start to the year
coming off “winter rest” and being able to play
in a team event. It also provides an opportunity
for Louisiana junior golfers to sharpen their
game before the high school golf season begins.
Squire Creek is regarded as one of the top
facilities in Louisiana, and rightly so. The Tom
Fazio designed track hosted the U.S. Women’s
Mid-Amateur Championship in 2015, and it
has hosted numerous LGA Championships
over the years including the LGA Mid-Amateur
in 2007, 2012, and 2014. Squire Creek boasts
some of the best greens in the state, known for
their speed and undulation, and the golf course
is in excellent condition year-round.
The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour season heats
up in the summer with 6 events, starting in June
at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette. This
event will be the first of the 36-hole summer
series of stroke-play events for players 11-18.
These events will feature three divisions; one
Overall Girls division (13-18), one Overall Boys
division (13-18) and one Boys (11-13) division.
Overall Boys will play from approximately 6,600
yards and the Girls and younger Boys will play
from approximately 5,700 yards. Prizes will be
awarded to the top finishers in each division,
and player of the year points will be applied
to the season points race. The LJGT will also
make stops at Squire Creek CC, East Ridge CC
in Shreveport, and OakWing GC in Alexandria.

the calendar below or online here.
The unification of the LGA and the
Louisiana Women’s Golf Association has added
exciting changes to the LGA Junior Amateur
Championship. The 62nd edition of the
LGA Junior Amateur Championship will now
feature an Overall Girls division. This is the
pinnacle championship for juniors in the state
of Louisiana and the champions will receive
automatic invitations to compete in the Junior
River Cup Matches as well as the LJGT Tour
Championship. There are 200 AJGA stars
up for grabs to the top finishers in the LGA
Junior Amateur and “fully exempt status” to the
Overall Boys Champion. The 62nd LGA Junior
Amateur will be conducted at Bayou Oaks at
City Park on the Rees Jones designed South
Course July 10-12, 2019.
Joining the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour is
