LGA seeking applicants for USGA PJ Boatwright Internship The Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) is currently accepting applications for its 2017 USGA P.J. Boatwright internship. The successful candidate will work with all staff members at the LGA and will see golf administration from a number of perspectives. “This position will provide a wide-ranging experience for an individual that is considering the possibility of a career in golf administration. We have had a number of former interns move on to full-time positions in the industry, both at the LGA and other golf associations,” said LGA Assistant Executive Director Logan Ray. The USGA provides internship funding for 59 Allied Golf Associations, of which the LGA is one. This will be the 22nd consecutive year that the LGA has received funding for the Boatwright internship. All full-time staff members at the LGA are former Boatwright interns. The LGA is the governing body for golf in Louisiana. It has conducted the Louisiana Amateur Championship since 1920 and conducts seven other major Amateur Championship events and four USGA qualifying events annually. It also administers the USGA Handicapping and Course Rating programs in the state for over 100 Member Clubs and 18,000 individual members. Its offices are located in Lafayette.
