Here at Backspin, we often
fear the winter as we think we
will be struggling for content.
Then, we get a gift – a mild
winter that produces several
tournaments ... OR a strange
one that produces snow, cancels
tournaments and provides for
beautiful pictures of the courses
in the Gulf States Section.
This year, we get the snow.
Thank you, universe.
Where our junior section
normally would be, we have
pictures from six area courses
that were blessed with a winter
wonderland. Fairways turned
into
cardboard
sledding
opportunities or new homes for
snowmen, and the pictures are
stunning. Can you guess where
each is? Jake got two. Can you
get all six? It’s tougher than it
looks!
As for us, we were among
those who lost electricity. Thank
goodness it was only for a day,
but that was enough to send
Jake driving around looking
for firewood and playing
caveman firestarter. It really was
beautiful, but I was ready to put
the fireplace away for another
year when our electricity came
back on. I don’t know how the
folks up north do it!
And I hear that during the
cold, our friends even further
south have lights out. I’m
praying for you guys closer
to the coast – stay safe and as
warm as possible.
Congratulations to all the
players of the year in Mississippi,
and we would like to thank the
MGA for sending us all the
pictures so we can help you brag.
Don’t forget – we take pi ctures
from pros, organizations and
parents. Send your results to
[email protected]. We’re
gearing up for an awesome
spring!
Finally, happy new year!
Check out Jake’s “predictions”
in Narro Minded. Good stuff
right there.
Thank you for another great
year of Backspin, and thank you
for what will be an awesome
2018!
Amber
Thank you to Bill Caldwell for sending this beautiful shot outside Carter Plantation. Hint, that’s one of the seven courses that sent in pics!
