Mississippi Golf Association seeks Hall of Fame
nominations
The Mississippi Golf Association is now
accepting nominations for our first class
to be inducted into the Mississippi Golf
Association Hall of Fame in the spring of
2019. Please click on “Nomination Form”
below to complete and mail in if you would
like to submit a nomination. Please read the
following eligibility guidelines and suggestions
for nomination before submitting:

Eligibility – The Mississippi Golf Hall of
Fame honors Mississippi men and women
who have made outstanding contributions to
the game of golf or who are distinguished by
their accomplishments as a Club Professional,
Coach, Architect, Superintendent, or Player
(amateur or professional).
To be eligible for induction into the Hall
of Fame, a person must satisfy one of the
following: (1) Mississippi residency for at least
10 years at any time; (2) Mississippi residency
during the period of his or her contributions
or accomplishments; or (3) have unique and
substantial ties or connections to the State of
Mississippi or have achieved extraordinary
accomplishments in the state, without regard
to residency.
Suggestions for Nomination
Player (Amateur or Professional)
Document the playing record and list
achievements on local, state, and/or national
level. Nominee can either be an amateur or
professional.
Club Professional
Achievements may be based on teaching,
playing, or contributions to the betterment of
golf in Mississippi.
Golf Course Superintendent/Turf
Industry
Achievements may include golf related turf
industry participation, turf grass research or
other contributions to the betterment of the
turf grass industry in Mississippi.
Volunteer/Administrator
Document
involvement
with
golf
associations, volunteer work, or work within
golf related activities or events.
Benefactor
Nomination may be used on significant
donation of time and/or financial aid for the
betterment of golf in Mississippi.
Historical
Based on historical research.
Nomination Form
