LGA names Samuel Crader director of
championship operations
The
Louisiana
Golf
Association
is
pleased
to announce the hiring
of Samuel Crader as its
Director of Championship
Operations.
Sam will
begin his tenure January 2,
2018 and will be directly
responsible for conducting
LGA Championships and
USGA Qualifiers. He will
administer the Rules of
Golf and Amateur Status
for LGA Members and its
Member Clubs, and he
will serve the organization
in a number of other
capacities.
“We are fortunate to have been able to
hire such an upstanding candidate as Sam,
and we are thrilled to welcome him to
Louisiana,” said LGA Assistant Executive
Director Logan Ray. “Sam’s knowledge and
work ethic will be valuable assets to the LGA,
and he’s the perfect fit for our organization.
In addition to his passion for the game and
innovative approach to golf administration,
we’re excited about the intangibles that he
brings. I’m confident he will thrive in his
new role and enhance our competitions.”
Sam is originally from Columbia,
Missouri. He graduated from the University
of Missouri in 2016 with a Bachelor of
Science in Hospitality Management,
emphasizing in Sports Venue Management.
Sam had a previous internship with the
Illinois Junior Golf Association and a USGA
P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Internship with the Texas
Golf Association in 2017. He shows great
enthusiasm for growing the game of golf and
is excited to bring that to the LGA team.
“I am very excited to serve as the Director
of Championship Operations with the LGA.
I look forward to upholding the high-quality
Championships that the LGA conducts and
will strive to add value to our Members and
Member Clubs,” said Crader.
The Louisiana Golf Association is the
governing body for amateur golf in the
state of Louisiana. It has loyally served its
Members and Member Clubs since 1920.
Today, the Louisiana Golf Association serves
100 Member Clubs and approximately
15,000 individual members, from its offices
in Lafayette, LA. The LGA is an Allied Golf
Association of the USGA and is dedicated to
providing golfers a full range of services for
the good of the game in Louisiana.
