PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT ( PPE )
Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis , shortages of personal protective equipment ( PPE ) have posed some of the greatest challenges for health care providers . PDA has researched numerous options in an effort to assist you in having the PPE you will need once dental practices reopen in Pennsylvania . We will continue to seek out reliable sources of PPE in the days ahead .
PDA GROUP PURCHASE ORDER PROGRAM
In response to member requests and concerns about the lack of available KN95 masks , as well as other PPE , PDA has established a group purchase order ( GPO ) program with Midway Dental Supply . This program supplements PDA ’ s endorsed vendor agreement with SourceOne , which has indicated it now has a fairly stable inventory of PPE . PDA members should generally find better pricing on PPE from SourceOne ( i . e ., PDA Perks ), which can be accessed here . However , the PPE Store is a competitively priced alternative intended to ensure PDA members can get the PPE they need . Current supplies in the store include KN95 masks , Face Shields , Level 2 isolation gowns , contact free thermometers and level three masks .
Please allow approximately two to three weeks for delivery . No refunds , exchanges or cancellations after the order is submitted . All sales are final .

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION IN THE ERA OF COVID-19
One of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic is the reality that dentistry must reassess what levels of personal protective equipment ( PPE ) are appropriate for different procedures . This could mean that some practices will be using N95 , or N95 equivalent , respirators for the first time . This webinar from April 24 , 2020 , discusses :
• Steps to introduce the use of N95 and other respirators in dental settings
• Practical tips for developing the OSHA respiratory protection program , including fit-testing , medical evaluation and training
• Different levels of surgical masks and how they compare to N95 respirators
• Proper steps for donning and doffing of all PPE
