FEDERAL PELL GRANTS Up to $ 7,395 for the 2026- 2027 award year For undergraduates with financial need who have not earned a Bachelor’ s degree or professional degree.

• For undergraduates with exceptional financial need.

SPECIAL RULE PELL GRANT Up to $ 7,395 for the 2026-2027 award year.
• Eligible undergraduate students whose parent / guardian died in the line of duty while serving in the U. S. Armed Forces on or after September 11, 2001, or while serving as a public safety officer.
• Must be under age 33 as of January 1, prior to the academic year.

WHO IS IT FOR?
For undergraduate students who have demonstrated financial need and are enrolled at least half-time.
For undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time. There is no need to demonstrate financial need.
For parents of dependent undergraduate students who are enrolled at least half-time. There is no need to demonstrate financial need.
ANNUAL AWARD AMOUNT?
Up to $ 5,500, depending on grade level and dependency status.
Loans will prorate for less than fulltime enrollment starting Fall 2026.
Up to $ 7,500 for dependent students and $ 12,500 for independent students( less any subsidized amounts received for the same period), depending on grade level and dependency status. Loans will prorate for less than full-time enrollment starting Fall 2026.
The maximum PLUS loan amount borrowed is the cost of attendance at the school your student will attend minus any other financial assistance your child receives. The cost of attendance is determined by the school. Loans will prorate for less than fulltime enrollment starting Fall 2026.
INTEREST RATE?
Rates can change every year and are fixed at 6.39 % for loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2026, and before July 1, 2027.
