This specialization builds upon a student’ s existing professional knowledge in chemical technology, medical laboratory technology, chemistry, or biotechnology to enhance skills in communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and research and leadership theories. The advanced science courses in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, lab animals, and research methods focus on these disciplines in a laboratory environment, including quality assurance in the medical lab, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, and biomedical device industries.
