“ Life moves fast”
Right now my toddler is, to put it politely, talkative. When I fetch him from school, he’ s an endless stream of:“ Masekazi said this,”“ Emir did this,” and“ My teacher taught me …” After spending a whole day in an office, it can sometimes be overwhelming to keep up( and yes, you need to answer every comment, otherwise I get told,“ Mommy, talk!”). But I need to remind myself that a) I, too, was a chatterbox when I was young( my uncle would pay me R5 to win the quiet game!), and b) it won’ t last forever, and in the blink of an eye he’ ll be a sullen teen who only answers me in grunts.
As MC and radio personality Jamie-Lee Domburg tells us,“ Life moves fast”. It was so refreshing spending the morning with her and her son Luca at the Taj Cape Town to shoot the cover for our Spring issue.
