Mzansi Mama Movement
Started by mom and content creator Rochelle Rae, the Mzansi Mama Movement is proof that sometimes the most powerful communities begin with one mom’ s honest post.
“ I felt the absence of the‘ village’ people often talk about,” Rochelle shares.“ Many of my family were abroad or no longer with us, so that daily support just wasn’ t there.”
So she created her own, starting with relatable posts, budget-friendly tips, and everyday encouragement. As her following grew, Rochelle shifted gears.“ I wanted it to be more than content – a space to bless and appreciate mothers.”
That heart is most visible in her Bless a Mzansi Mama Project, which gifts a grocery voucher to one mama each month, funded entirely by Rochelle herself( for the moment).“ Eventually, I’ d love to bring brands on board who share that heart.”
With over 12 000 moms in the community, Mzansi Mama is expanding, with dreams of inperson meetups, fun walks, and mom events.
“ Life gets busy,” Rochelle says,“ but having a space to uplift and connect with each other makes all the difference.”
Her top tip for moms?“ It’ s okay to do things for yourself. Recharging helps you show up as your best self.”
