What you ' ll need:
Coloured paper( yellow, orange, black, white) Child-safe scissors Glue stick Markers or crayons Googly eyes( optional but highly recommended for max fun!)
STEP 1:
Cut the main pieces Start by cutting out three main shapes:
TIP:
A yellow semicircle for the lion’ s body A yellow head with rounded ears A big orange circle for the lion’ s mane
Don’ t worry about perfect shapes – wobbly lines add charm!
STEP 3:
Add the muzzle
Now it’ s time to give your lion a face! Cut a small white oval for the muzzle and glue it to the middle of the face.
STEP 2:
Stick the head to the body
Glue the orange mane onto the body, overlapping at a slight angle. The mane will give your lion its fabulous fluffy look! Next, glue the head onto the mane as if it is overlapping the body.
STEP 4: Eyes, nose, and whiskers
Add googly eyes or draw them on. Then cut out a small black semicircle for the nose and draw on a big smile with whiskers. Don’ t forget the tail – a long yellow strip with a cute orange tip!
MAKE IT EXTRA FESTIVE!
• Add a tiny paper Santa hat for a Christmas lion.
• Make a jungle scene on a card to send as a holiday hello.
• Add glitter( if you ' re brave!) for some sparkle. www. babysandbeyond. co. za
