BBM: Can you tell us a little bit about
yourself, Alice and Marc?
We’re a married couple who write bestselling
murder mysteries while trying not to kill
each other.
BBM: Was there a certain time in your
life you knew you wanted to write?
Marc: One summer, between 7th and 8th
grade, I picked up Robert E. Howard’s Conan
the Adventurer and settled into a hammock.
By the time I reached the last page and
realized I was in my back yard and not
Howard’s “Hyborian Age,” I knew I wanted to
be a writer.
Alice: I can’t recall a time when I didn’t want to tell stories. You can blame my older
sister for that. When I was born, my parents asked her to name the new baby. She was
enjoying Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland so much that she chose “Alice,” thus
launching me into life with a literary heritage. (It worked.)
BBM: What are you currently working on?
For nearly a decade, we put our Haunted Bookshop Mystery series on hiatus, so we’re
especially excited about bringing a new entry to our (very patient!) readers. We just
finished writing The Ghost and the Bogus Bestseller, coming this October, and we’re
now planning the next book in the series.
We’re also working on our next Coffeehouse Mystery, the 18th in that bestselling
series. Look for its publication in 2019.
