This way, as he grows, we can change out items here and there and easily incorporate them anywhere else in the house. Before starting the bedroom design, I didn’t have a certain theme in mind -- until I came across Livettes KIDS’ gorgeous constellation wallpaper. The black and white pattern set the tone for my son’s room as a modern, yet playful space. In less than two hours, I had the easy-to-place, removable wallpaper installed. The best part is, when I decide to change up the style, I can remove it without any damage to the wall! I always like to start my designs with a neutral color palette, and then add color as the design develops. After settling on the starry wallpaper, I painted an accent wall in a deep blue, which accentuated the natural wood and other, softer, colors. I wanted to add lighting that was functional and accessible, so my son could easily turn it on and off. Golden sconces from World Market added just the right amount of contemporary blended with practical. BABIEKINS MAGAZINE After finding a coordinating blue dresser at IKEA, I gave it a more modern, polished look by spray-painting the hardware in a bright metallic gold. And I incorporated texture with a DIY headboard, which I made by staining and stapling wooden fencing panels from the hardware store. 123
