Winter
2018 Edition
Letter from
the Editor
Hi Fellow Coasties!
Sponsors
What a cold start to the winter months, isn’t it getting harder
to get out of bed in the mornings? Whether you are running
your own business or working for somebody else, finding a
work-life balance is important.
A lot of us struggle to find a happy medium for our work-life
balance, particularly now, more than ever, as a two person
income is required for the standard family. Finding the
balance to fit in time for work, your family, your friends and
yourself is harder than ever, please see our feature in this
edition with more information and tips on how to achieve
this balance.
The newly released 2018 budget is offering tax relief to
encourage and reward the working Australia. We have
asked our Labor Federal representative Emma McBride and
our Liberal Federal representative Lucy Wicks for their views
on how it will affect the community and infrastructure on
the Central Coast. See pages 7 and 18 for their views.
The State Government is provide $52 million in funding for
the Gosford City Centre’s infrastructure and public space
as announced by the Minister for Planning and Housing.
Council are planning to hold workshops to gauge
community views in relation to the funding plans. See page
19 for more information.
The Central Coast Council has been through a rough
few years, with the amalgamation and then acting CEO
appointed, and finally now, Central Coast Council have
appointed the new Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gary Murphy,
who will commence his five year contract on the 2nd July
2018. Given the bad publicity our Central Coast Council
has had recently let’s hope that with the guidance of Mr
Murphy this is able to be turned
around.
