I’m sure we all remember a
dreaded visit to the doctor
to get “the needle”. As
traumatic it is (usually for
the parent) to have these
needles it is necessary to
ensure our country is kept
safe from some awful and
deadly diseases.
Children 4 years and under are vaccinated against:
• Chickenpox
• Diphtheria
• Influenza
• Hepatitis B
• Haemophilus
influenzae type b (Hib)
• Measles
• Meningococcal C
• Mumps
• Pneumococcal
• Polio
• Rotavirus
• Rubella
• Tetanus
• Whooping cough
Children also need booster shots for
some of these between 10 and 15.
So, what are these
diseases?
