ACTIVITY NAME: PHRASAL VERBS BLOCKBUSTERS MAIN GOAL(S): KEY GRAMMAR/ VOCABULARY LEVEL: TIME: PREPARATION: Revision of the phrasal verbs introduced in the student´s book (New Success Upper- Intermediate, Unit 5) Phrasal verbs related to money B2 15 minutes Have a chart with the initial letters of the phrasal verbs that you want your Ss to revise (this time: New Success Upper Intermediate, Unit 5)+ explanation of the meaning of the verbs PROCEDURE: T displays the chart and introduces the main goal of the activity (revise PV from their book) and explains the rules of blockbuster game: - Ss work in two teams - they have to join the blocks of three different sides (left/right/up/down) to win the game - team A chooses the first block- T reads the meaning of the PV- team A has to answer (they have 10 seconds to come up with the answer)- if the answer is correct, they gain the block- if the answer is wrong/they do not know the answer- team B can answer or the block is blank - teams A/B take turns until one of them wins MATERIALS/ EQUIPMENT NEEDED: POSSIBLE VARIATION: Worksheet author: Course/ lecturer the activity is from: A projector and a computer to display the chart/ a board to draw it there The chart can be used for any other verbs/idioms you want to revise with your students.
