19. ACTIVITY NAME: A GOOD LIAR

Texts with unbelievable facts (of different topics)
1) - T introduces the topic of the lesson by asking Ss to listen to him/her and
write down 4 true facts they will hear
- when the T finishes his/her speech, they identify the true facts together
2) - Ss are given their lists of facts (a different topic for students in the same
group) and they get these instructions:
¨Prepare a short speech of 2 minutes maximum, where you include (but try
to hide) 5 facts from your list ¨
(see the texts enclosed or prepare your own topics and facts)
- the T should point out that to make it challenging the Ss have to include
some other facts that are false and hard to believe
3) Ss need to have ENOUGH time to prepare their presentation (depends on
their level, age,…)
4) Ss give their speeches either in smaller groups or in the whole class and
they copy the procedure of the opening activity ad1)
