ACTIVITY NAME: QUESTION - QUESTION MAIN GOAL(S): Speaking KEY GRAMMAR Questions LEVEL: intermediate / upper intermediate TIME: 15 minutes PREPARATION: Prepare a background picture to be screened – inside an electronics shop. You can have in an electronic form an example of a dialogue to make it clear to students. PROCEDURE: Students make pairs - could be a boy and a girl, needn’t be. 1. INSTRUCTIONS: Situation: Students in pairs are a husband and wife. They are at an electronic shop shopping for a new TV set. Tell students they should have a conversation consisting just of QUESTIONS. They can choose a tone of their conversation- angry, romantic, tired, enthusiastic, .. Give them an example / You can display it. • H: „This is the TV set we want, isn‘t it? • W: „Are we looking for a TV set? When did you tell me? • H: Just when we were going to the car? Were you not listening to me? • W: Do you listen to me all the time? 2. Students speak. You monitor them. You can write down some mistakes to comment on later connected to question formation.
