PREPARATION: A picture of a restaurant on screen for a background.
You can prepare restaurant menus for 5.
PROCEDURE:
Students make groups of four and sit together.
1. SITUATION SETTING:
They are ex-classmates. They see each other after 20 years. They are in a
restaurant. They should have a conversation. Everyone can say only one
sentence, it should go clockwise. If someone is silent for a long time, another
student can take over.
The first letter of one student is the last letter of the previously speaking
student.
A: „Hi “.
B: „I am so happy to see you. “
C: „Unfortunately, Tom isn‘t here.“
D: „Eve, have you heard of him? “
C: „Maybe he will appear later. “
2. Let students speak. You go around and monitor.
3. Ask students what they will be like in 20 years (married, bald, in prison),
what they think.
4. Feedback. Evaluate the activity with thumbs.

** You can play it with one group made of volunteers, let them sit in front of the board
around a desk and the rest of students can watch them try. It is fun.
