Conclusion
Documents and manuscripts in the Hadji Sinan’s tekke holding present the object of everyday
researches, and they are available to researchers. Due to the manual usage, age and condition the
original materials are in, they are in constant danger of further damage. Therefore, the electronic – and
particularly microfilmed – recordings of the materials would enable us to protect the Hadji-Sinan’s
tekke holding in an adequate manner. Digital recordings on the electronic carriers, such as compact
discs, would in most cases fulfill the demands of the researchers, enable a more efficient cooperation in
the exchange of the documents with similar institutions in the country and throughout the region, and
we would achieve the main goal of this project, i.e. we would be able to protect these rare and valuable
materials from manual usage and further devastation.
A short biography: Sejdalija Gusic, an archivist, graduated in Arabic Language and Literature
and Turkish Language and Literature from the Department of the Oriental Languages and Literatures
of the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Philosophy in 1980. Since 1981, he has worked in the
Historical Archive Sarajevo as an archivist-orientalist. From November 2001 to September 2011, he
was appointed as the Director of the Historical Archive Sarajevo. In December 2003, he was elected
President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Archivists’ Associations.
