So who is Randy Harris? A year ago he seemed just to be another dumb musician who simply plugs in and plays, but after a small amount of time through many interviews it has become apparent that he is a man of broad-minded intelligence with an IQ of 163 makes him the brightest member of 'Mojo Pin' and a borderline genius. Filled with a witty and nimble sense of humor along with a lust for knowledge and politics and literature. His musical awakening like all others at a particular age came from The Sex Pistols and their album Nevermind The Bollocks.
"When I first listened to Nevermind The Bollocks I thought I had finally found what I had been looking for in a band. It was everything I wanted to hear on an album. It changed my life. I remember saying; 'That's it for me'. But if you look at when it was released, looking back you can kind of see that it mirrored the times perfectly, it certainly mirrored my attitude, all that teenage adolescence that I was filled with, it just became my Bible. Then afterwards I started listening to The Who, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, The Stones, The New York Dolls, Aerosmith.
I just wanted to absorb everything that came my way and then one night when I was at a party with some friends, I did my first line of coke and someone put on Black Sabbath's Paranoid album and then I was off again, sniffing out whatever else I could find!". He seems more enthused now and excitedly open about everything and anything as he grabs another can and sits back down, coughs slightly then begins to divulge more."Its classical music that's inspiring me at the moment, guys like Grieg and Brahms, they just seem to leave some emotional reverence with me. It's fucking killer!".
After a year away the band have been on a journey that seems to have never stopped. Along the way of recording, touring and this year doesn't look like that it will be any different from the previous as they prepare to release three albums, One been a live segment of one of the shows that the band will perform along with a double album split up into two releases.
