BENEFITS CHANGES AND ENHANCEMENTS

CHANGES AFFECTING ALL OPTIONS :
1 . Introducing a new Edge option , called BonStart Plus . 2 . Introducing a new Oncology Management Programme , known as the Bonitas Oncology Network , in partnership with
SAOC ( South African Oncology Consortium ), to improve the coordination of care . 3 . Introducing the new electronic DBC App for our Back & Neck Programme , allowing the accessibility of home-based care to members on all options . 4 . Brachytherapy benefit limit has been increased to R51 000 per beneficiary . 5 . The Wellness Extender will now be known as the Benefit Booster ( not available on BonCap ). 6 . The administration costs of all vaccinations being administered by a registered nurse will be paid from the overall annual limit . 7 . Take-home medicine benefit has been changed to a maximum of a 7-day supply per beneficiary per stay up to the maximum rand value per option . 8 . Contraceptive benefit is available for all females up to the age of 50 years ( removed minimum entry of childbearing age ). 9 . 3.9 % increase on all monetary benefits ( except for Oncology ), unless otherwise stated .
SPECIALIST REFERRALS
A member / beneficiary will be required to obtain a referral from a GP for a specialist consultation , with exceptions to :
• 2 gynaecologist consultations or visits per annum for female beneficiaries ( used to be 1 consultation )
• Paediatrician consultations for children under the age of two
• Consultations with oncologist
• Consultations with ophthalmologist
• Specialist to specialist referral
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL BENEFIT
Subject to authorisation , prior to departure , on all options ( except BonCap ). Please be aware of the following conditions :
• 3 month age limit will not apply
• Emergency medical expenses incurred in connection with cardiac , cardiovascular , vascular , cerebrovascular illness or complications related to persons 70 years and older are restricted to a limit of R500 000
• Additional benefits for COVID-19 : o Additional costs for compulsory medical quarantine limited to R1 000 per day to a maximum of R10 000 for accommodation o PCR testing up to R1 000 o The cover will only apply if a beneficiary tested positive
• Manual labour is excluded
