Dental and periodontal enhancements
Bonitas continues to offer some of the most generous dental benefits in the market. For 2026, we’ re introducing several key upgrades:
• BonSave: A new in-hospital dental benefit, subject to preauthorisation and managed care protocols
• BonPrime & Primary: Access to the periodontal programme to support gum health
• BonComprehensive, BonClassic, Standard, Standard Select, BonComplete, BonSave, BonFit: Periodontal examinations now limited to once every 12 months
• Primary, BonPrime, BonCap: Cover for dentures removed to mitigate anti-selection risks
Oncology & specialised radiology realignment
As part of our strategic realignment, Bonitas has recalibrated benefits across the option range to support simpler, more personalised plan selection.
• Oncology benefits will now range from PMB-only cover on entry-level options to R448 200 for non-PMB cancers on BonComprehensive.
• In-hospital benefits for MRIs, CT scans, and PET scans have been realigned based on claiming patterns.
• Specialised radiology co-payments have been nominally increased to R2 800 per scan on BonStart Plus and BonFit
• Alternatives to hospital benefits now range from R17 340 to R21 750 across options
• Take-home medicine benefits have been increased to R470 per hospital event on BonStart, BonStart Plus, and BonFit
