As we move into 2025 , the Bonitas Board and Executives had to take a prudent approach to ensure that our benefits and pricing would place Bonitas in a more favourable position in the long term . We took factors such as healthcare inflation ( read more on pages 17 and 18 ), economic pressures and erratic claiming patterns into consideration . We firmly believe that the changes we have made will continue to address your needs and provide you with additional value in the year ahead . We would like to reassure you that we remain steadfast in broadening access to healthcare and ensuring the sustainability of the Fund , while always acting in the best interest of all our members .
With the festive season fast approaching , it ’ s usually a time of relaxation with family and a bit of overindulgence . But it ’ s important to be smart about your ‘ down time ’ and find a balance between enjoying delicious treats and maintaining a sense of wellbeing . Remember to stay active , whether it ’ s through walking or fun activities with loved ones .

I ’ m extremely proud that Bonitas was announced the winner in the ‘ Medical Aid Category ’ at the Ask Afrika Orange Index ® Awards for 2024 / 2025 . This is the Scheme ' s 4th win in this category over the past seven years . It is also the 5th accolade for us this year . This is testament to the strategy we have adopted , which is to reshape the healthcare ecosystem by bringing affordable , quality healthcare to more South Africans .
