AYOBA MUSIC MAG SEPTEMBER 2012 | Page 52

2.2 How had the internet changed your relationship with and to music and the industry? Well the main thing to my attention  was that there was such a wide variety of genre's on the net thanks to sites such as #Beat Port, Traxsouce, Junodownload, Afrodesiamp3 and Soundcloud but to name a few... so that has helped me a lot with collecting music for my gigs and events, and getting information on the latest and hottest songs coming out, aside from collecting from the producers themselves and friends. With regards to the industry, its allowed "Them" to be World known and thus giving everyone opportunities to listen and download the next big song.

2.3 Do you do music production? if yes, what type of music do you produce?

I don't at the moment, but during this end part of the year i'll be working on a few of my own Tracks and Re-Makes of well known Tribal and Soulful House tracks that i'll distribute next year this time. But if you wanna hear them i'll put a preview on my #Soundcloud account close to December  and post the link on my page on Facebook for you guys to have a listen to. i"ve been booked around Gauteng province on its own. So at the moment i'd have to say Gauteng is the favorite.

what are the biggest barriers new Deejayz face?

I'd have to say ''OTHER DEEJAYZ'' but they shouldn't be intimidated by them. Go to the gig and be yourself, that's the best way to play and ENJOY yourself.

What do you believe is the secret to your success as a Deejay?

Patience, Self believe, Perseverance  Motivation from my Inspiration/Idol, motivation from my agent/manager, Practice and LOVE, a lot of LOVE , that's my main secret

When it comes to Deejaying **"If you PLAY WELL, you FEEL GOOD and if you FEEL GOOD, you PLAY WELL"**.And with production, be YOURSELF and make ur music UNIQUE to who you are and don't try to be someone else.
