Within just ONE year of today Young Starr and the MOVE~Ment has been 'rising' on the rapid with an overwhelming demand as a guest on individual Dj's shows in New York. Young Starr's first demonstration: Young Starr Movement Session #1 took place on 7/30/11 in NYC Times square. There after within one week, I was asked to perform at a private party as a DJ at The Hilton Park Ave NY for R. Sebastian of Coca Cola Company. I then went to play at NYC's Coney Island Boardwalk for the annual block party Aug 2011. I was also featured in "Hands To The Sky' documentary, a House music film that is broadening across the world. I performed at the Dorchester Hotel Miami WMC 2012, Miami Arts Theature WMC 2012, Femancipation WMC 2012, Hotel Shelly on behalf of Cyberjamz radio WMC 2012, Club 'Flirt' Philadelphia, Central Park NYC June 2012, CNR Rehabilitation NYC, I also played along side Felix Hernandez of 107.5 WBLS NY for his series 'Rhythem Review" it goes on and on...and it keeps coming, scheduled to perform 8/29/12 @ NYC's Hudson River Cafe in the HEART of HARLEM NYC.
At this time I can not really 'label' any as a favorite simply because I do LOVE what I do. my focus always stays on the Love and the passion of 'what' I do, not as WHERE "I' do. My goal for the up coming year is to go ABROAD.
My take on 'barriers', there really aren't any barriers, is how we perceive every situation, I personally STAY at my best to LOVE all of 'it' STAYING focused and grounded...anything that comes my way.
There is no 'SECRET' to success as a DJ. What there ARE for ANY success is boundaries. Which must be consistent. I feel consistency is a must. I do not believe in 'hobby' DJ's either you are a DJ or not. Playing music is not a sport it is a 'Talent'. HARD work, dedication and determination. It takes more than talent to be successful in any thing we do or set our goal to accomplish.
