Lynn Lockamy
Who is Lynn Lockamy?
Answer: Lynn Lockamy is a singer/ song writer who has an affinity for
both music and education. With a two Bachelor's degrees and a Master's
in Post Secondary Education, Lynn Lockamy has spent most of her life
burning her candles at both ends as a School Director at Junior
Colleges by day while writing and recording songs at night. She has
become more visible in the House Music community with the advent of
the highly acclaimed single "At the Club" but she has penned many
other songs you know ie. Torture (Eric Frazier producer and remixed by
QuentIn Harris), Fire (produced by Kerry Chandler), You Move Me
(produced by Dervish) to name a few. She s currently working on an
album with its first single entitled Flesh is Weak to be released soon.
When did your career start?
Answer: Lynn Lockamy's career in music began at the age of four when she began singing in a local church choir. Like many before her, she honed her skills singing gospel music and eventually began singing R&B, Soul and Jazz. She was greatly influenced by Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Candi Staton, Dorothy Moore, Ella Fitzgerald among others. Lynn sang for many years in a local Baptist church as well as Lutheran and Catholic Schools which she attended.
As a young girl she was invited to sing for former New York Mayor Ed
Koch and 1984 Presidential hopeful, Jesse Jackson. While in college,
Lynn recorded a couple of singles with 95 North Productions which made an impact in the house music community locally and abroad. Eventually,
