Rowick deep is a house music producer/Dj from Pretoria, hard working and dedicate to live his life through music.
•I started 13 years ago when I got a opportunity to work on two house music compilations ( 45bm by the Heavy Dee Krew and house vs. Latino)..That is when I can say my music career started, but as a dj first. I only started to produce about 5 years ago
• I only really started in the music business when I teamed up with Loxion Kulca to do the “Loxion House Kulca” compilations.
• Well it has not changed my relationship with music; it just made it easier and much more effective to get my music out there.
•I have not done much traveling to many countries via bookings yet, just Swaziland and Botswana so far which i played there a few times. My favorite I would say is Swaziland so far.
•I prefer doing my beats from single hits and not loops, it gives me more control on how i want my beat to sound, hence the originality of my sound is my key factor.
•Every Producer has his/her own element they feel is a key ingredient in a track, for me it’s how everything comes together, the bassline ,the melody ,the beat ,the groove the track has ,the arrangement of the track, so for me there is not just one key ingredient , but what makes a track for me, is the baseline.
•I like to start with a beat.
•I mainly use digital but I try to make it sound analog and oh yes it does.
•Monitors is very important ,but like I said every producer has his or her own way of working and needs to find what works with them, I like working with 4inch monitors when I am producing ,and when I am done with a track I like to listen to it on bigger and louder monitor.
•I would say finding your own unique style and sound, quality in production because there are many hot producers out there now.
• It is very imported to master your track. Whether you do it commercially or internationally but a track must be mastered, International is better but more costly of cause, because they have better resources but we do have very good masters in SA as well. Do it yourself...I do not think so, I would recommend u send your track for mastering.
•I would say hard work and dedication, and I am always trying to come up with something new and fresh, giving people quality music and I love producing music.
•Work hard for what u want, dream big, masters your craft, be the best that u can be and spend as much time in studio as u can. Push your music hard!
