Final Cut Pro vs. iMovie

Apple iMovie is part of their iLife suite of software products, which are designed to allow home users the ability to create and share multimedia projects on their Mac Computers. iMovie is a video capture and editing program that makes it easy for beginners to enter the interesting world of video creation and editing. However, there are other Apple video editing products that some users may want to consider as well, and in this article we will review some of the differences between Apple's entry level video editing program, iMovie, and their high-end editing program, Final Cut Pro.

iMovie ships as part of Apple iLife suite of multimedia projects and is priced at $79.95. You can use the iLife suite of products on up to five personal computers at home for the one low price. iMovie is geared towards first-time or novice video editors that want to learn the basics of video editing and create their own home movies or videos.
