AYOBA MUSIC MAG March 2013 | Page 13

5. Do you ever experience writer's block? I imagine this would be particularly annoying if you were in a collaboration situation. If you do, what do you do to get over it?

Either you feel a track or you don't so if l have tried a few times and it doesn't work then I let go of the track.

6. You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favourite part about the process?

I write the lyrics and the producer writes the music. The great thing is when you have beautiful music that inspires you and of course to have something to say on it.

7.What sorts of things have you done to improve your songwriting since then?

Ummm nothing much but I do try and improve on my singing techniques by doing scales and I have a vocal coach.

8. What is your musical background? Do you have a musical family or did you just fall into songwriting all on your own? see number 3

9. For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words.

Spiritual, soulful, positive, sensual, deep.

10. So, what’s your favourite thing to do when you aren’t writing/singing etc?

Being with the people I love.

11. What are the five things you can’t live without?

Music, music, love, music, love.
