P.M Project
1. Please tell me a little about yourself? Who is P. M Project?
P.M Project is a Deep/Afro House producer and DJ camp consisting of Matey D, Jackson Brainwave, Winston Viller and Roger Mphanya.
2. When did your career start?
P.M Project was established in 2007 and began releasing music in early 2010 under international record label called SoSo Deep Records owned. We’ve been releasing music on other record labels since then.
2.1 How did you get your start in the music business?
We began as mobile DJs, holding DJ residencies at various clubs/pubs and performing at private parties in around our neighborhood, and later we got to be busy in studio and we were soon discovered by Stephen Rigmaiden the founder of SoSo Deep Records based in California.
2.2 How had the internet changed your relationship with and to music and the industry?
The internet has helped us a lot in terms of getting our music to overseas and reaching other musicians/artists as well as making sure our music is heard all over Mzansi. The internet is helpful to most independent artists, you don’t necessarily have to wait to get a record deal to get your music out there, internet is there.
3. Which Country have you visited through being booked and which is your favorite?
Lesotho, the environment is awesome and there are a lot of house heads who really support our music. We can’t get enough.
