FOREWORD By

FREE editorials in Aycliffe Today!
Yes that’s right, FREE editorials in
Aycliffe Today.
In fact, contrary to a minority belief,
we’ve ALWAYS done free editorials for
community organisations, sporting
clubs and charities - many of whom
will testify to that.
Not only that, we’re the ONLY
Aycliffe-based media outlet which
employs professional journalists, so
our publications are the only way for
groups and organisations in Aycliffe to
get their message out there in a proper
and professional way.
Since
we
launched
www.
aycliffetoday.co.uk more than three
years ago, which has since become
the most popular website for news
in Aycliffe, we’ve attended countless
events, PR and interview opportunities
and done our own editorial features on
many clubs and groups on the town.
I have also personally done free
publicity work for the Aycliffe Business
Park Community group, promoting
our business park in the local area
and to a wider audience in North East
publications such as The Northern
Echo, Journal and Teesside Gazette
and online business media forums like
Bdaily, Insider Media and BQ-online.
Many of our readers will also be
well aware of some of the voluntary
work I’ve done to promote the town’s
football club over the years, as well as
offering them thousands of pounds

worth of free space in our business
magazine.
We do, however, charge commercial
profit-making businesses to write
advertorials for our publications, and
we do this for three reasons.
• We publish high-quality magazines
which are expensive to print so that
needs to pay its own way;
• We offer a professional journalism
service, the only in Newton Aycliffe;
• Companies are in the business of
making money, and advertorials are
just another form of advertising.
As they say, the proof of the pudding
is in the eating; and our Aycliffe Today
Business magazine continues to
thrive because companies want to be
seen in it.
We’ll continue to offer free space
to community groups, charities and
sporting clubs who need publicity,
and write our own features on them
when they’re not able to - as we have
countless times before.
So get in touch if you need to
promote anything - we’re always
happy to help.
We hope you enjoy this first Aycliffe
Today People issue of 2015 - we’ll be
back in the summer.
Cheers
