ROMAN ADD APPRENTICES
Newton Aycliffe firm Roman has
introduced three new apprenticeships
into different departments within the
company.
The shower designer and manufacturer
has welcomed three new apprentices to
add to the many they already have.
Jack Mitchell, from Aycliffe, is in
customer relations, Ciaran Kelly,
also from Aycliffe, in joinery and Karl
Teasdale, from Bishop, in research and
development – they’re all aged 17.
Free recruitment event on how
to attract and retain top staff
A free event to help businesses improve their recruitment,
retention and care of staff is being held on Aycliffe Business Park.
Aycliffe-based DH Recruitment is hosting
the special event at the Xcel Centre on
Thursday 25th February, which will include
afternoon tea and takeaways, with five expert
speakers lined up to reveal some of their top
tips on recruitment, HR, occupational health,
financial considerations and training.
The event is focused around team effort,
and how to retain top talent as well as
attracting it.
Author, speaker and coach Nevil
Tynemouth, from New Results Training, will
talk about helping employers understand
how to get the very best out of training.
He will also explore the impact training
has on companies, and how they can get the
best return on time and money invested.
Nevil was involved in launching two of
the UK’s most familiar brands in Dyson
and BlackBerry. He has worked as part of
FTSE100 companies management teams for
over a decade and in sales for 25 years.
Sasha Warr, from Outsourced HR, will
also deliver a talk on HR issues. Sasha has
more than 20 years’ experience in HR, having
previously held Head of Department roles for
both Renault Retail Group and Toshiba.
She supports clients in achieving
their goals by transferring her extensive
knowledge of best practice into practical
solutions which can be adopted by
organisations of all sizes.
Liz Short, from Business Health Partners,
will talk about occupational health and
making sure you’re looking after the physical
and mental wellbeing of your staff.
The other two speakers will be Lisa
Fleming, director of DH Recruitment, and a
representative from RMT Accountants from
Gosforth in Newcastle, who will talk about
financial planning for recruitment as well as
workplace pensions.
Lisa Fleming, who has organised the
