Bringing Aycliffe Business Park Together | 3
WELCOME
FOREWORD By Martin Walker
Welcome to the 19th edition of Aycliffe Today
Business for November-December 2015.
As we approach the end of another year, the
Aycliffe Today team is celebrating the third
anniversary of our award-winning business
magazine.
We launched this publication in November
2012. It was initially met with some scepticism
and doubt. Would there be enough news and
interest in such a magazine? How would it be
funded?
We answered those doubts fairly quickly and
emphatically. After that launch issue, which
consisted of just 16 pages, we quickly grew to
36 pages – more than doubling in size – and
selling space is never a chore.
I believe it works for three main reasons...
1. I have a genuine passion to promote
Newton Aycliffe and Aycliffe Business
Park, and I think that comes through in our
editorial features and advertorials.
2. People enjoy reading the magazine – that’s
the feedback we get from our clients and
readers.
3. Companies want to be seen in Aycliffe
Today Business because of its prestigious,
high-quality print and professionally-written,
sponsored articles (at affordable rates!).
We’re trying to make Aycliffe Today Business
accessible for firms of all shapes and sizes
and we’ve come up with a range of packages
which can be seen on pages 28-29.
In September 2014, we won the Best
Newcomer award at Make Your Mark – Aycliffe
Business Park’s inaugural business awards
event.
This year’s event is being held on Thursday
26th November at the Xcel Centre – we have
already booked our table!
The guest speaker for this year’s Make Your
Mark is the Comcast founder Peter Wilcock –
you can read more about that on page 4.
There are more details about the award
categories on pages 10-11. You can also enter
online and buy tickets (only £29.95 each) or
find out more info at www.aycliffeawards.co.uk
It promises to be another cracking event and
I urge everyone to get involved and celebrate
each other’s success stories.
Finally, may I wish everyone on Aycliffe
Business Park a fabulous Christmas and
a very happy and healthy New Year.
We’ll be back in January with our first
issue of 2016!
