NEWTON AYCLIFFE - A GATEWAY TO THE NORTH EAST
A rapidly-growing recruitment firm has moved into new premises on Aycliffe
Business Park as it embarks on ambitious growth plans for the North East,
spearheaded from its new Newton Aycliffe office.
Major Recruitment has relocated to
Parson’s Court on Welbury Way after
acquiring Torus Recruitment earlier this year.
The Huddersfield-based group bought
Torus, a £6m-a-year operation with offices
in Aycliffe and Doncaster, after it went into
administration on May 1.
The acquisition boosts Major Recruitment’s
annual turnover to £30m, a workforce to 100
and a larger geographical area.
The company already supplies quality
labour to industrial, logistics, technical,
engineering, healthcare, clerical and
executive placements. Permanent
placements have also been a highlysuccessful growth area within the business.
The acquisition extends Major’s reach into
the North East coupled with growth plans for
the North West with arrival of new Liverpool
office arriving in August this year.
