Village pub gets rebrand from Aycliffe agency Nestled in the rolling hills of Teesdale, The Three Tuns, Eggleston, is a ‘must visit’, following its recent takeover. Justin and Kellie Cooper, who have two children, have made incredible changes to The Three Tuns following their takeover in late 2016. Their new initiatives include a brand new menu, filled with meals that include locally- sourced ingredients, and a dog-friendly campaign offering doggy beer and treats! This work has all come about since they chose to employ the talents of Aycliffe Business Park’s marketing agency, Thrive Marketing, for a new brand for the pub. Director at Thrive Marketing, Rachel Townsend Green, first met Justin Cooper when she was holding marketing seminars at Teesside University in 2015. Fast forward two years and Justin had remembered the seminars and was certain that Thrive Marketing were the right people to assist with their latest venture. Kellie and Justin are previous managers for Leopard Leisure Limited, and have brought with them a vast amount of experience of the hospitality industry. Senior Graphic Designer, Tom Mather, said: “We have been able to create a brand that is a modern take on traditional style, allowing us to keep the theme of the pub intact, but bringing it into the 21st century. “We’ve also created sub-brands that allow The Three Tuns to grow and expand its reach as it also expands its products and offerings for the local area.” The rebrand and wraparound communications strategy has meant that The Three Tuns has become a popular destination for locals and those from further afield, rather than merely a place to stop for a pint. Kellie said: “The rebrand has been fantastic, Thrive has listened to us and actually created what we wanted by adding to the traditions of the pub but modernising the look and feel, at the same time. “We always wanted a marketing team that would have a long-term relationship with us and be a part of our journey, rather than someone who would create a logo and ‘that’s that’, so to speak.” Indeed, the Thrive team are also supporting the pub with their social media marketing and are currently in the process of rolling out the rebrand across their new website. Kellie added: “The social media marketing has been massively encouraging – as a start-up business to see the reach and engagement rates is amazing. “At Christmas we ran a campaign on our social media that was incredible in terms of reach, but it also became a real talking point within the local community. “The whole experience with Thrive and how they are supporting us on our journey as a business is absolutely fantastic!” There are hopes that the ongoing relationship between Thrive Marketing and The Three Tuns will mean that the Teesdale pub will become an ‘experience’ destination, allowing it to become an established bar and kitchen for all.
