Business Park’s physiotherapy clinic booming
Work, rest and play without pain is the order of the day for a physiotherapy practice
which has given thousands of people their quality of life back as it continues to grow
from strength to strength.

For more than a decade, Aycliffe Physiotherapy,
based in Langton Business Centre on Durham
Way, Aycliffe Business Park, has provided
treatment for musculoskeletal problems in
order to help clients go about their everyday
life.
Practice manager John Griffiths said: “When
we first started here 11 years ago we had just
the one treatment room, now we have three
treatment rooms plus a fully equipped Pilates
and rehabilitation studio.
“A lot of our success is down to our approach to
our clients and the quality and continuity of the
service we provide.
“Back in 2002 we were the only physiotherapy
practice in the area. We were on the Park
before many of our present neighbours. There
wasn’t much consumer orientated business
here then but for us the location made absolute
sense as it is so easy to get to; and as the park
has grown so have we.
”
Aycliffe Physiotherapy specialise in treating
problems such as back or neck pain, arthritis,
pulled muscles or sprains, sports injuries,
shoulder pain, tennis and golfers elbow,
repetitive strain injury, headaches and whiplash
injuries. The services available include
physiotherapy, acupuncture and Pilates. They
run regular Pilates classes which have proved
highly popular with local people.
They only employ highly-experienced graduate
chartered physiotherapists, all are HPC (Health
Professions Council) and CSP (Chartered
Society of Physiotherapy) registered. They are
Physiofirst members and are approved by all
health care insurers including BUPA, AVIVA
and AXA.
Aycliffe Physiotherapy has a strong team of six
highly-skilled chartered physiotherapists lead
by Clinical Partner Caroline Griffiths MCSP who
,
has 20 years’ experience herself and together
the team has over 100 years of professional
expertise.
John added: “It’s not just about the clinical
treatment, it’s a dedicated one-to-one session,
where the physiotherapist will find out how
the injury is impacting on a client’s life and how
best to assist their recovery to fit in with their
lifestyle.
“Each person is different and it is crucial that
empathy and understanding is achieved with
each client. We aim to treat the person and not
just the injury.
“Sometimes as the years pass problems can
re occur and where possible we will always try
and put a client with the same physiotherapist
they had before, to maintain this level of
support. We have a simple mantra in the
practice which is to look after our clients and
to give good old fashioned service. We have
a lot of loyal clients who come back to us or
refer their family and friends to us and this is
something we are very proud of.
”
Another big asset the practice has is being able
to get to the root of the problem quickly.
“We have a very experienced team here, said
”
John. “Whatever problem is brought to us,
our physiotherapists will probably have seen
it before and this really enables us to apply
treatment quickly and effectively.
“Other benefits to clients are our opening times
and same day appointment policy. If someone
needs help after work we are open every
weekday evening and generally we can see you
on the same day you call: this works really well
on the business park.
”
Aycliffe Physiotherapy treats clients from far and
wide but they do see many clients who work
on the park and they have enjoyed longstanding
relationships with many local companies
including Gestamp, Roman and OHTS.
John said: “The great thing about
being here on the park is that we
really can help local people to be free
from pain quickly so they can go about
their daily work. This is a great location
for anyone who needs us.
“We have historically kept our prices realistic
too, and we have managed to do this through
being quite a big practice and being able to
accommodate a higher volume of clients than
most clinics but without compromising on the
quality of the care we provide.
“Looking ahead we look forward to keeping on
doing what we do well and to continue to grow
with the popularity and success of the park and
develop our loyal client base.
“For anyone who hasn’t given us a try yet
please come along and see us. We will be
happy to help.
