Recruitment
agency opens
Ireland office
A
Newton Aycliffe-based recruitment
agency has opened an office in the
Republic of Ireland to meet rising
demand for its new training division.
Fleet Recruitment, led by ambitious
entrepreneur Neil O’Connor, expects turnover
to grow by 40% in the next year, with half of
its growth expected to come from Ireland.
The Aycliffe agency has successfully
expanded its services in the past three years
by delivering sales management consultancy
and sales training throughout the region and
the wider UK.
Recruitment services have previously been
Fleet’s main source of revenue, but O’Connor
wanted to increase the volume of sales
training and consultancy they deliver.
“It’s something we’ve always provided,
but almost as a hidden secret to support our
current clients’ needs,” he said.
“Going into 2019 I wanted to get serious
about our sales training by offering it out
to a wider market and we’ve enjoyed great
success year to date.”
O’Connor says the firm’s new Dublin office
will see it expand its services in Southern
Ireland.
He added: “Trading in Ireland for the
past six months has been fantastic for our
business and the support we have received
from clients in Dublin is incredible.
“The Irish market found us through
referrals and LinkedIn, where business
leaders spotted our reputation and credibility.
“We have earned that reputation by
proving competency and ultimately by
delivering fantastic results for customers.
“Our new base, just 15 minutes from
Dublin, means that we now have a footprint
in Ireland and we are extremely excited about
the opportunities for our business over there.”

Roman splash the cash on new site
S
hower screen manufacturer Roman
has secured £2m funding from HSBC
to potentially double the size of its
production facilities on Aycliffe Business Park.
Strong sales and international growth
for the Aycliffe shower enclosure company
means their current rented site lacks capacity
to meet predicted demand in export markets.
Roman currently uses 22,000 sq ft of its
rented facility on the business park, with the
remaining 26,000 sq ft of the site rented to
other tenants.
Purchasing the site will provide the
company with flexibility to expand production
when required.
Roman has been designing and producing
shower screens and enclosures in Aycliffe for
over 30 years.
The company employs 200 people,
producing product lines such as wetroom
panels, shower trays, bath screens and
accessories.
International interest in the firm has
contributed to year-on-year growth for the
business, in both the UK and abroad.
Additional production capacity and
flexibility with their facilities means they are
better equipped to meet increased demand
for their products in Europe, the Middle East
and Far East.
Managing director David Osborne
(pictured) said: “Roman has seen a steady
increase in demand for our products both
within the UK and internationally.
“HSBC UK has always been incredibly
supportive of our business objectives, and
this next step enables us to use the space
we tenanted more flexibly, while also giving
us an opportunity to continue to grow our
operation.”
f you’re a B2B company, you might
have not seen the results you desired
from a Facebook or Twitter campaign
due to the segmenting options they
have available.
Still unsure? Let’s make the numbers
talk for themselves. 71% of B2B
marketers say LinkedIn is part of their
advertising strategy.
With over 260 million LinkedIn users
logging in each month, this platform is
a hive of business professionals waiting
for you to reach out to.
Objectives
From February 2019, LinkedIn shifted
towards an objective-based campaign
creation experience, similar to the other
major social media platforms.
Like Facebook’s Ad Manager, LinkedIn
has split its objectives based on the
buyer’s journey. You can choose from
the following objectives: awareness (top
funnel), brand awareness, consideration
(mid-funnel), website visits,
engagement, video views conversions
(bottom funnel) lead generation, website
conversions, job applicant and audience.
One of LinkedIn’s most powerful tools
is how it can segment audiences during
ad creation.
As usual, you can target specific
languages and location. However, you
can also go in-depth and highly focus
upon individuals who have worked at a
specific company or have ‘X’ years of
experience within their industry.
Targeting by company, education level
or job experience would be extremely
helpful when advertising job vacancies
and would allow you to attract just the
right type of person you were looking
for!
When assigning a budget, you can
choose from setting a total budget or
both a daily and total budget.
You can then adjust your ad delivery
– LinkedIn automatically sets ‘optimised
traffic pacing’ as default which means
your budget will be spent when
members are active on the platform.
However, you can choose ‘even
pacing’ where your budget will be spent
uniformly throughout your campaign’s
start and end date.
Once you’ve successfully set up your
ad, you can head over to campaign
manager to track performance and make
any adjustments.
