The magazine for Aycliffe Business Park | 3 INCLUDED IN THE MAY-JUNE 2019 ISSUE OF AYCLIFFE TODAY BUSINESS… WELCOME GUEST FOREWORD: from Ian Brown Welcome to the 40th issue of Aycliffe Today Business I t is a pleasure to have been asked to write the foreword for the May-June edition of Aycliffe Today Business. Although a relative newcomer to the business park, Excelpoint has been established and based in County Durham for many years. We were attracted to the business park due to the fantastic community and support network offered by both the residents and committee. The Aycliffe Business Park Community has established an excellent programme of both networking events and seminars. They have created a sense of community spirit in the park with businesses supporting one another, and we are proud to be a part of this community. This year is going to be an exciting year for our business. We operate within the commonly termed “fourth industrial revolution” or industry 4.0. This sector covers the current trend of software automation and data exchange. It is a transformation that makes it possible to gather and analyse data, enabling faster, more flexible, and more efficient software processes. /11 SARA DAVIES We have delivered projects for businesses including Anglian Water, Mitie, Cyclife (EDF Energy), Minova Global, Hanson UK, Polar NE and Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. On the business park, we are pleased to have supported both Ebac and the Xcel Centre. In the last edition of the magazine we proudly announced sales growth of over 100% and to support this growth, we have recently expanded the team recruiting two new software consultants, a marketing manager and an apprentice. Over the coming months, although there remains significant uncertainty regarding Brexit, we expect to see continued growth as businesses use this time to focus on achieving process efficiencies which will realise cost-savings across key business functions. I hope you enjoy this issue of Aycliffe Today Business and the stories of success and achievement from around our region, especially from our business park.
