The magazine for Aycliffe Business Park | 3 INCLUDED IN THE JULY-AUGUST 2018 ISSUE OF AYCLIFFE TODAY BUSINESS… WELCOME /13 ACTION STATION Hitachi developers are back with a plan… FOREWORD: from Martin Walker Welcome to the 35th issue of Aycliffe Today Business – the magazine for Aycliffe Business Park. T his edition is packed with exciting news from around the business park, as well as a special six-page feature celebrating the fourth annual Make Your Mark awards event. Part of our special feature on Make Your Mark includes a piece on John Parnell, who was awarded only the second Aycliffe Ambassador award. John is business development area manager (South) for Business Durham, the economic development organisation for County Durham, and you can find out why he was handed the coveted award on page 19. One of the most exciting bits of news is arguably the proposed new development by Merchant Anglo – the company which brought Hitachi to Aycliffe – and a 25-acre site which could bring hundreds more jobs to the business park (page 13). It’s another statement of intent by well- known developer Geoff Hunton and his team, and another golden nugget of news for us. Of course, a spade is yet to go to ground, but Merchant’s track record speaks for itself. They know the commercial property market inside-out and I’m confident they’ll pull off what would be yet another major boost for Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas. Positive news continues to reverberate around the business park, and this issue includes a long list of that, featuring the likes of Roman, Aycliffe Fabrications, BTS, Stiller, Baltic Training, Virtual College, Tekmar, Husqvarna, Crafter’s Companion, Ebac, South West Durham Training, Diamond Commercial Cleaning, Thrive Marketing and The Work Place, Pixel Media, Eldon Financial, Arlington Automotive, M5tec, Excelpoint, Gestamp Tallent, Fleet Recruitment, Sporting Force, Logico, Avec Partnership, Palram and Mill Masters. Since launching almost six years ago, more than 120 companies have now used Aycliffe Today Business to promote their services, goods and products, or to raise local awareness, promote their brand or help to recruit local people. /14-19 MAKE YOUR MARK A six-page special on the fourth annual business awards night… /20-21 INSPIRATIONAL The 13th annual Future Business Magnates competition was a big hit with schools and employers again… An A-Z of those firms is available in our new Media Pack, available in the business section at aycliffetoday.co.uk Get in touch today to join them!
