Commercial property specialist Naylors has been appointed to sell Whinbank Park – at the heart of Aycliffe Business Park – on behalf of Manchester-based property company MCR Property Group. The 18-acre estate comprises of over 90 industrial units and office suites, and is tenanted by a total of 47 businesses including Techwax, Fabtech and Trinity Kitchens NE. In November last year, MCR Property Group acquired the 10-acre Langton Business Centre on Aycliffe Business Park in a £1.85m deal. I Sales director celebrates 30 years with Roman nternational shower designer and manufacturer Roman has celebrated its contract sales director’s 30 years of service at the Aycliffe firm. Marc Teasdale – pictured (right) with the firm’s managing director David Osborne – joined the Aycliffe firm in January 1988 as one of the original team of sales managers. Since then he has worked his way up to northern sales manager and now his current role as contract sales director. Marc focuses on Roman’s relationships with key housebuilder partners, merchants and hotel groups, and has become a well- known face and personality in the industry. Marc’s son Karl joined Roman in 2015 as an apprentice in the research and development department and is aiming to achieve his NVQ Diploma in Engineering Technical Support this year. MD Osborne said: “Marc is our longest- serving member in the business, having joined us almost at the beginning. “He is trusted and well respected both within the business and with our customers and he has always been great fun to work with.” The County celebrates 10th anniversary A n Aycliffe-based restaurant is celebrating its 10th anniversary in business by pledging to raise money for 10 charities throughout the next year. The County, a popular Aycliffe Village eaterie, close to Aycliffe Business Park, will be hoping to raise as much money as it can for a number of charities, including The Salvation Army, St Teresa’s Hospice and Women’s Aid, throughout 2018. To say a special thank you to its loyal customers for their support over the years, the restaurant commemorated its birthday with treats, including a cake and a £10 voucher to be used in the restaurant. Business owner Colette Farrell said: “I’m shocked that the last 10 years have passed so quickly. “We are incredibly thankful to all of our customers and staff who have supported us over the years.” The last decade has seen many highlights for the restaurant, which employs 25 staff members, including the addition of seven luxury guest bedrooms in 2010 and winning the Northumbria Dining Award in 2014. Over the last six years, owners Colette and PEST CONTROL HELP Businesses in County Durham looking to tackle or avoid pest problems are being offered free help. Durham County Council is providing pest management surveys and advice to companies on industrial estates and business parks which it owns. The pest control team’s qualified and experienced pest control technicians will visit the estates and parks on dates which will be advertised in advance, to allow businesses to book the surveys beforehand. DL EXPO RETURN Following the huge success of last year’s event, which delivered the biggest and busiest show yet, DL Business Expo is set to return to Darlington in May. DL Business Expo provides an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services and is a great networking opportunity for the local business community. Last year’s DL Business Expo attracted over 60 exhibitors and over 400 attendees. This year’s event is due to be held at Mowden Park Rugby Club in Darlington on May 17. Stuart Dale have invested over £150,000 into the refurbishment of both the restaurant and bedrooms. The couple believe the reason for the business’ success is down to the team’s hard work and dedication, mixed with the high-quality of food, customer service and excellent location. “We have also benefited from an apprenticeship scheme as two of our chefs, Callum McFadden and Scott Marriott, who have now been with us for four years, started at The County as apprentices,” added Colette.
