Bringing Aycliffe Business Park Together | 15 AYCLIFFE BUSINESS PARK CONTINUES TO THRIVE Aycliffe Business Park continues to be one of the region’s industrial hot spots, but is also a key area for office space, say chartered surveyors Sanderson Weatherall. The park has seen a busy six months, following a number of deals brokered by agents Sanderson Weatherall, with engineering company Gestamp Tallent having taken a 12year lease on the former Sanyo site to assist in the growth at its North-East operation. Sanderson Weatherall helped to secure the lease on the 10-acre site, adjacent to the company’s existing premises. The lease includes the site’s two industrial buildings, which provide a total of more than 123,000 sq ft of internal floor space. The site is owned by Arctic Cat Property and asset managed by Roebuck Capital from London. Gestamp Tallent produces automotive components for a number of vehicle manufacturers in the United Kingdom and across the globe. Jonathan Simpson, Partner at Sanderson Weatherall, said: “The Gestamp deal continues the engineering and manufacturing-led drive, which we are seeing within the industrial commercial property market here in the NorthEast, and particularly at Aycliffe. It is the largest letting on Aycliffe since we completed on the 150,000 sq ft letting to Ebac at the back end of last year on the former Radius Systems site. ” Jonathan added: “We have had a very busy period, having also completed the letting of 70,000 sq ft on Grindon Way to Tyne Tees Packaging back in June, and the letting of unit 1 Angels Close, comprising 17 ,000 sq ft to Advanced Automated Systems which only completed at the end of August, illustrating the significant demand for space and perhaps more importantly the lack of available stock going forward. sq ft office to Baltic Training and the letting of a similar sized unit to Rentify on Parsons Court in the heart of the business park. ” Sanderson Weatherall are now hoping to find new occupiers for the former Holiways garage site, after completing its sale earlier this year. Bradford-based property development company, Prestige Car Direct Properties, has made the 27 ,501 sq ft site available as showroom, office, workshop and display land space. A total of eight premises are available for let, with land opportunities ranging from 1,079 sq ft to the full 27 ,501 sq ft. www.sandersonweatherall.co.uk “As far as the office market goes, we have also seen a marked improvement in the sector having recently completed the sale of a 2,250 HARLANDS ACCOUNTANTS LAUNCH BUSINESS BUILDER WORKSHOP PROGRAMME Harlands Accountants hosted the first of this year’s planned business builder workshops in July as they continue to bring the world’s leading business speakers to the North East. The County Durham-based accountants, invited former actor, writer, and professional poker player, Caspar Berry to speak to a packed room full of business minded guests at Ramside Hall. Managing Director of Harlands, Glyn Davison was delighted with the feedback and content of this first in a stream of business builder events. “We’ve had a great reaction to the speaker and content and cant wait till our next event!" said Glyn. Caspar used a very interesting metaphor of poker to explain how risk can be calculated and that we shouldn’t be afraid to lose a hand (fail) in the short term, as long as we can see that the decisions/risks will pay off in the long term. The event was designed to help business owners/managers grow their skills with an ultimate aim to build better businesses and I think we achieved that” The next of Harlands business builder workshops will be on 11th December with a keynote from Durham based Geoff Ramm. Geoff is the creator of 'Celebrity Service' and ‘Observational Marketing’ which he shared with the audience at Harlands brand launch in December 2013. Glyn added: “We decided to book Geoff again due to the demand from our clients and contacts. In his keynote, Geoff takes you on a journey of memorable real life marketing and service stories, which not only enthral and enthuse, but leave audiences minds buzzing with new ideas. In this event, we want to help our clients and contacts gain and retain more customers by standing out from the competition. Geoff is a perfect speaker for this!” Renowned as ‘the Billy Connolly of marketing’, Geoff receives rave reviews from corporate clients and associations as well as entrepreneurial audiences with his fast-paced, highly interactive keynotes and master classes.
