Police Team Sergeant MARK

THE LOST CHILDREN!
Thirteen lucky youngsters from
Newton Aycliffe recently starred
in a UK production of Peter Pan in
the region.
The young performers from
Aycliffe Dance Academy were
chosen to appear in Peter Pan at
Darlington Civic Theatre in April.
Megan Austin, Sophie Bush,
Grace Catterick, Amy Chatt,
Milly Duggan, Darcy Kent, Emily
Langsley-Melvin, Lucy Murray,
Bridget Proctor, Chloe Shaw, Anna
Shorten, Ellie Sisterson and Tilly
Walker, all aged nine or 10, were
selected from more than 200
students at the Aycliffe Academy.
The dance school was chosen to
provide 12 Lost Boys and Tinkerbell
by production company Enchanted
Entertainment, which is touring
with the show.
Aycliffe Dance Academy principal
Emma Cox said: “I couldn’t believe
it when I received the phone call
from the show’s producer to say
that we had been chosen.
“I was so excited and over the
moon to be able to present this
amazing opportunity to some of
my students.
“The academy is just about to
celebrate its fourth birthday. I can’t
believe how far we have come, I
could burst with pride.”
Investigations are like putting
jigsaws together – each piece
takes you closer to the end product,
which in our case is hopefully a
result.
People often think Police work
is like what they’ve seen on TV
in shows like The Bill (you must
remember that?) where everything
just falls into place.
In the real world it’s not that
simple – although on that rare
occasion that’s exactly how it
works out.
