Industry and tech triumph at Tees Business Awards

More than 350 guests celebrated the best of Teesside innovation and success at the Tees Business Awards 2025, with Billinghambased RS Industrial Services and tech entrepreneur Imran Anwar leading the honours on a special night.

A Tees Business event in association with Stockon-based headline sponsor Moonrise 24hr Recruitment, the third annual Tees Business Awards took place on April 10 at Hardwick Hall Hotel.
Teesside-raised football presenter Hayley McQueen hosted the awards, which also saw funds raised for Teesside Hospice, while HR Alchemy MD and hospice trustee Jo Davies rallied support for an important local campaign, Talk Cancer Teesside.
Tees Business director Dave Allan said the awards were part of the ongoing celebration of 10 years of Tees Business, in which they had made“ Talking Up Teesside” a core element from the start.
Referring to the region’ s ability to bounce back, regenerate and reinvent itself despite numerous setbacks since its industrial heyday, he said there was still plenty of room for positivity despite global uncertainty, telling the business community:“ Keep doing what you’ re doing. Keep building. Keep growing. Keep embracing change. Keep issuing those reminders of exactly how‘ we built the world’.”
Top company prize on the night went to RS Industrial Services, leading suppliers of material handling and engineering products, who pipped law firm Jacksons and construction company JMAC Group, to Business of the Year in a vote among sponsors.
After the most exuberant award acceptance of the night, delighted CEO Mark Cawley, who received the award from Moonrise finance director John Gwaringa, said:“ This is the best part of the world to be right now from a business point of view. I’ m trying to drive our business forward and this is the place to be to do it.
