Training charity strengthens ties with business park neighbours
When businesses on your doorstep don ’ t know about the great work you do , it ’ s time to change that .
For more than 40 years , itec North East has been at the forefront of apprenticeship training and professional development , working closely with businesses to upskill workforces and create opportunities .
Now , with a fresh focus on sales and marketing and the addition of Stacey Banfield , the team is making sure more local businesses know exactly how they can benefit .
Operating from itec House on Hilton Road , this highly experienced yet close-knit team of 25 plus may be smaller than some national training providers , but that ’ s their strength .
Every business and learner they support is given a personalised service , expert guidance , and hands-on support from start to finish .
“ We ’ ve been here for years , but we ’ re seeing a shift . More businesses are coming to us now that we ’ re making stronger connections and raising awareness of what we do ,” says Stacey Banfield , who leads itec ’ s business development and marketing efforts . “ With 500 businesses on the park , there ’ s huge potential for collaboration , and we want to ensure every employer knows how we can help them bring in new talent and develop their teams .” A great example of this is BCS Render , one of itec ’ s business park neighbours .
After a recent conversation , they realised how their tailored apprenticeship programmes could support their growth .
As a result , they are now recruiting a multi-channel marketer apprentice , a fantastic opportunity to strengthen their workforce with fresh talent .
Itec provides tailored apprenticeship programmes and bespoke training solutions that meet the evolving needs of businesses , covering everything from digital marketing and IT to leadership and management .
Their award-winning e-learning platform enables flexible , high-quality training , whether delivered online , at itec ’ s facilities or directly in the workplace .
And it ’ s not just about hiring apprentices . Businesses can also use the team ’ s expertise to upskill existing staff , supporting longterm growth and succession planning .
“ With larger national providers , businesses can get lost in the system , passed from team to team ,” Stacey explains .
“ At itec , we do things differently . We take the time to understand each employer ’ s needs and guide them every step of the way .
“ We don ’ t offer hundreds of courses , we focus on a select number of apprenticeships and training solutions delivering them exceptionally well .”
Itec already works with major Aycliffe employers like Husqvarna , but they ’ re eager to support even more local businesses .
Their approach is simple : listen , assess , and build a training plan that works often at no cost to the employer .
“ If businesses have skills gaps , need future leaders , or want to invest in training , we can help ,” Stacey adds .
“ We ’ ll sit down with them , understand their goals and create a practical , funded solution to develop their workforce . And we ’ re right here on their doorstep .”
